Cybils 2008: The Children's & Young Adult Bloggers' Literary AwardsThe Cybils are the premier Web awards for children's literature. The public is invited to nominate books (one nomination in each category) from October 1-15, 2008. Panels of bloggers award the prizes. Finalists are announced on January 1, the winners on February 14. Cybils have nine categories, Anokaberry has added "Early Juvenile Fiction" to these nine, to make up the 10 you see below. Anokaberry has made her nominations but salutes the Cybils here by listing our favorites so far this year. There are stacks (dozens, hundreds?) of books still to be read - either not yet officially published or that are waiting for us so this list is Anokaberry's Salute to the Cybil's List, October 2008.Young Adult Fiction:Absolute Brightness by James LecesneAfter Tupac and D Foster by Jacqueling WoodsonBlack Box by Julie SchumacherDeep Down Popular by Phoebe StoneGame by Walter Dean MyersGirl Who Saw Lions by Berlie DohertyGirl, Hero by Carrie JonesThe Latent Powers of Dylan Fontaine by April Lurie Shift by Jennifer Bradbury Skin Deep by E.M.
