...over and done with too quickly! House of Many Ways kept me wondering what troubles were going to happen just around the corner!

Part fairytale, part Harry Potter--an entertaining and original story.
Overwhelmed and ill-prepared,Peter and Charmain go from one crazy situation to another as they try to take care of Great Uncle William's magical house while the wizard is away. 4 1/2 stars ****

Although this book seemed disjointed to me I thought it was an interesting book to read. I loved the idea of a house that had many doorways and depending on how you turn, you end up in different places. I couldn't quite 'get' the characters in the book, but the ending ties some of that together. It also could be that I didn't read the first book, Howl's Moving Castle. I would recommend a young reader read the first book to get the feel of the characters in the story.
I give it 3 ***
